baby room update

ok so i’ve been slooooooowwwww about updating the pics of the baby room but hey, i have to work at something that makes money too you know.  :)  so, it took all of Memorial Day weekend but i did complete the babys room.  well, my wife just informed me that the crib still has to be put together, the glider still has to be put together, the dresser still has to be ordered and put together, and the 1/4″ round still has to be installed around the baseboard.  oh, and the rest of the house has to be done too.  ok, so she has a way of humbling me.  but!…she did take me out for a steak dinner afterwards.  it wuz goowood too!  ahight, so here are the pics…

champ (my dawg) decided i needed help…

all done! (well, except for the aforementioned)

my cute pregnant wifey in her pj’s! hehehe…

when i get the crib, dresser, etc. completed i will update this thing again.  until then let me tell you that i really am enjoying the whole creation of something new.  it reminds me of what is to come and what has been written in the script of this life for eternity.  wow, WOW!  we are such blips on the radar…i feel soooooo small sometimes.  thank you JC for such a precious life, wife, unborn child and puppies of course!

oh boy, Gods a workin’

well i am reading this book you see and a question came to mind that i thought might be a good one for my peeps in the blog world.  so check this out…is it possible that a man cannot find “Gods calling” for his life in the way of a career b/c God never intended “work” to be ones calling?

holla if you have ears to hear :)

dreams and life causes

well i have never heard of this person but apparently she is very well known to many for her inspirational words through fine art, commercial illustration, and the literary field (whatever that means).  however, i saw this quote and it knocked me off my rocker (not literally. it’s just an experession).  she is quoted as saying, “If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again. “.  well, i’m still on the floor and i’m not sure i can get up yet…ok i just got up.  i wonder why it is that so many people stop pursuing their dream after it seems to have shattered (me included, which is why this is messing me up)?  i’ve heard it said by dw that, and i’m paraphrasing here, that if one dream dies then God wants plant a new dream in your heart.  i think that is right??? (help me out here dw).

now my “dreams” are not the same thing as a life cause unless i were to make my dream and life cause compatable.  ever since last sunday when dw spoke at church about having a life cause, it has made me realize that what once was my life cause is no longer my life cause and i have no life cause no more.  i am praying for a new life cause.  Rev. 21: 5:  He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” do we deserve a new dream or should we pick up a piece and begin again?  what are your dreams?  what is your life cause?  do you think it is possible to have a dream and incorporate a life cause into it?

there is hope

i’ve got this buddy of mine that has been married for like 35 years and about a month ago dropped a bomb on us that he and his wife were splitting up.  not the big “D” but she moved out to get some space.  this news messed me up b/c ali and i have looked up to these folks and their what seemed to be rock solid marriage.  for whatever the reasons are for something like this to happen, my friend has remained optimistic that things are going to work out.  so here is the encouraging thing…just about 5 min’s ago he stuck his head in my office with this grin that would make you think he just had his first lifetime kiss and say’s, “i got me a date tomorrow night!”.  of course my mind started to spinning to come up with an appropriate reply and like a doof i asked, “with ____ (his wife)?”.  wthey?  why couldn’t i have just replied, “great! so where are you and ____(his wife) going?”.  but noooooo, not me, i had to question it like there was a chance he might be treadding on thin ice or something.  oh well.  i am happy for my boy.  i am especially excited that he is so excited to be going out on a date with his wife of 35 yrs.  that! is encouraging! don’t you think?

i’m a looser, how ’bout you?

well, i played three long grueling sets of tennis last night with a good buddy and i have to tell ya…youth wins everytime.  well not everytime but it seems like it when i play someone younger than me which is 95% of the time.  you can do the math and figure out pretty quick that i’m a looser!  that’s right, i’m a looser!  the truth is, i hate loosing @ tennis, golf, work, etc.  i am very competitive and like winning! winning is fun!  however, i like being a looser when it comes to one thing…following JC’s example.  JC was such a looser that he wanted to be last.  being last means that loosing isn’t loosing but loosing is winning!  let me encourage you to be a looser in life, it’s fun!
