well the time has come to make the switch to accomodate all five of you that want to make comments on my blog but have been unable to for whatever reason blog.com has.  and b/c i am never one to disappoint, go to this link for my new blog on blogsome.com.  well, it’s not really new, it’s still the same old same old with a new flavor.  so, i will see you over there!  and b/c this has taken A LOT of time, be sure to comment!  it will make me happy and i will be encouraged!

well i am officially tired!  for the last three weekends including memorial day, i have been painting, installing flooring, taking care of the wifey, the dogs, and trying to keep up with the sports world too.  which btw, this guy is amazing at what he does!  i like a quote his father once said, “you don’t instill things in a child, you only encourage them.”.  well if that quote is not encouragement, i don’t know what is!  anyway, i’m tired!  i have things that ache that i didn’t even know i had.  i’m walking like tiger, with a noticable gimp.  now here’s the kicker, I’M STILL NOT DONE!  this is what i have left to do.  about 8 boxes of flooring…

champ (my lab) is helping out again.  he likes to help.  he never does anything but he likes to think he is. 

fact is, it sounds as if i am complaining but in actuality, i am being appreciative.  i appreciate the fact that i have a home to sleep in.  i app. a wife that is carrying our baby.  i app. the ability to work on this project.  i app. puppies and knees, and hands, and backs, and saws, and hammers, and glue, and golf, and fishing, and…ok you get the picture.  i am ging to focus on this and i shall have strength for another weekend to come.

well i got to see my boy adam w. today for lunch.  we had a great time catching up and discussing the worlds issues (well, gwinnett and atlanta but that IS our world squirrel).  i like hanging with adam b/c you know where he stands.  he holds no punches, tells it like it is, black or white, no gray area and he says things with affirmation!  it has got me thinking, if a.w. were to run for public office, let’s say gov. of this great state of ga.  (i saw on this blog where he calls it the “dirty” south, whatever that means.  but this person is quickly becoming my idol and she endorses him so he must be cool) he would win b/c he believes in what he says and that what he has to say needs to be heard and heard with conviction.  here’s what i learned from a.w. today.  i learned that if you want people to listen to you then you have to be well versed in what you are saying.  that means a lot of hard work and that means studying and that means reading and that means rehearsing yada yada yada.  all of which i loathe.  fact is that i need to be more versed.  more versed in scripture, more versed in being a husband, more versed in being a father, a salesman, a friend, and so on and so on.  so i am turning over a new leaf, to be more versed in what i am called to be.

well i need a favor.  don’t worry, i am not going to ask you to come help me put flooring in my home although my boy Robert Kriner did this weekend who was a ginormous help!  her is Robert helping me…

anyway back to my favor…my Mom (Carol Lani) is set to fly to jacksonville fl. this tuesday to have surgury on her knee on wednesday.  she will be in the hospital till saturday recooping and then begins a three to four week rehab.  would you join me in prayer for #1 her safety while traveling to jksnville, #2 smooth surgery with no complications, #3 a speedy recovery and rehab.

you see unlike her (who is the most selfless person on the planet), i am selfish and want her to recover quickly so she can be here when baby arnett comes in this world (who is slated to become the world’s #1 ranked player in the world in golf in 2028 overtaking Sir Tiger Eldgridge Woods who will still be #1 even though he will be 52.  trust me, he will be).

well the quarter round is in, the crib, and the glider!  lookin’ good aint it?  (said with with a slow drawl as if you were watching “deliverence“)

now all we got is the dresser and hutch to go till it’s complete.  :)  and yes that glider is soooo comfey.  i’m thinkin if i put a vizio 37″ lcd screen in there with some bose surround sound…the baby and i will be kickin’ it all night long!  ahww yeah!  put some veggie tales or baby einstein in and kick back.  maybe a bag of corn and a diet coke for an all nighter.  soundin’ good aint it?  (again said with a drawl like Frank talks in “sling blade”)

in all seriousness, i can hang here and i hope baby arnett can too.  my hope is that once the blue or pink is added (depending on if it’s a boy or girl) it will be full of color and be so vibrant that it makes him or her happy and feel my love and know that i am going to hang out with him or her.  that is what all baby’s want right?  to be happy and feel loved?  to have a father hang out with them?  well that and to be held and fed and burped and swaddled and have their diaper changed when they pee or poop.  ok ok ok, sorry, got a little carried away there.  yes sir, we are gonna doing some hang time in here and i can’t wait!  my wife really can’t wait!

ok so i’ve been slooooooowwwww about updating the pics of the baby room but hey, i have to work at something that makes money too you know.  :)  so, it took all of Memorial Day weekend but i did complete the babys room.  well, my wife just informed me that the crib still has to be put together, the glider still has to be put together, the dresser still has to be ordered and put together, and the 1/4″ round still has to be installed around the baseboard.  oh, and the rest of the house has to be done too.  ok, so she has a way of humbling me.  but!…she did take me out for a steak dinner afterwards.  it wuz goowood too!  ahight, so here are the pics…

when i get the crib, dresser, etc. completed i will update this thing again.  until then let me tell you that i really am enjoying the whole creation of something new.  it reminds me of what is to come and what has been written in the script of this life for eternity.  wow, WOW!  we are such blips on the radar…i feel soooooo small sometimes.  thank you JC for such a precious life, wife, unborn child and puppies of course!

well i am reading this book you see and a question came to mind that i thought might be a good one for my peeps in the blog world.  so check this out…is it possible that a man cannot find “Gods calling” for his life in the way of a career b/c God never intended “work” to be ones calling?

just finished the walls and ’bout to get busy with some trim!

i’m painting the baby’s room.  this is what I’ve accomplished thus far…muahahahaha!!!
